Again, since my resources are limited, I am initially focusing just on Maryland.  Also, the list does not indicate my endorsement.  Please thoroughly investigate all programs you are interested in before submitting personal information.

(CAN offers a variety of services in the greater Baltimore area, e.g., food, utility bill assistance, and job skill development)

Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Division of Unemployment Insurance
(administers unemployment benefits)

("MHIP is a state-managed health insurance program for Maryland residents who have been unable to obtain health insurance from other sources") 

("The Mayor's Office of Employment Development (MOED) coordinates and directs workforce development initiatives responsive to the needs of Baltimore City employers and job seekers in order to enhance and promote the local economy.")

(MWE is a "one-stop network created to improve access to information about jobs, training and workforce support throughout Maryland.  Workforce Exchange connects agencies, programs and services electronically to assist employers and individuals in making the right decisions for future success.")
